We take a look at pediatric airway management this week! We discuss the controversy, training, tip and tricks for this low-frequency, high-risk practice. It was a very spirited discussion, to say the least.

Even ED residents, after a 3-4 year residency, on average intubation less than 10 pediatric patients…nobody is “good” at this without consistent practice!

A study showed that it takes 50 pediatric intubations to have a first pass success >90%. Less than 50 intubations, first pass success is ~50%.
